About Ursa Space Systems
Ursa Space Systems builds the software and AI agents that guide the acquisition, analysis, and integration of satellite and geospatial data into customer workflows, delivering valuable insights for global security and commodity markets. By leveraging satellite data and advanced analytics, Ursa Space provides fast, actionable information to a range of industries, including finance, energy, and defense.
Job Summary
Ursa Space Systems is seeking an attentive, driven, and detail-oriented GEOINT Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will independently execute end-to-end geospatial analysis, fusing multimodal imagery (SAR, EO, RF, AIS) and automated analytics with open-source and secondary data to deliver high-accuracy intelligence products.
You will work closely with senior technical leads, Operations managers, and cross-functional teams such as engineering to process complex datasets, validate machine learning outputs, and refine operational workflows. The ideal candidate pairs a strong foundation in remote sensing with an eagerness to master emerging satellite modalities and complex threat/commercial domains.
To support our 24/7 global intelligence operations, this role requires flexibility for non-traditional working hours, including evenings and weekends, or on-call shifts driven by mission requirements. Shift differential pay applies to applicable non-standard hours. This is a full-time, virtual position.
Job Responsibilities
- Independently execute end-to-end geospatial analysis across diverse geographies, threat models, and commercial domains.
- Use of AI-model workflows in the reporting process leveraging AI agents in daily operations.
- Fuse multimodal datasets including Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR), Electro-Optical (EO), Radio Frequency (RF), and Automatic Identification System (AIS) with secondary and commercially and publicly available data to generate actionable intelligence.
- Analyze imagery across a wide range of providers, formats, and satellite constellation orbits.
- Create, update, and validate maps, spatial layers, and visual intelligence products for client deliverables and internal projects.
- Ensure all output data is accurate, complete, and consistent through rigorous auditing and quality validation standards.
- Identify edge cases, anomalies, or quality bottlenecks in production pipelines and escalate them with proposed technical solutions.
- Support research, validation, and benchmarking of machine learning algorithms used in production workflows.
- Contribute to updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), technical documentation, and workflow design discussions.
- Partner with Product and Engineering teams to translate specific customer requirements into operational production steps.
- Provide technical troubleshooting and problem resolution for data ingestion and production pipeline issues.
- Collaborate with senior team members and cross-functional partners (Sales, Marketing, Prototyping) on custom data processing needs.
- Perform other operational duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 2–4 years of professional experience in GEOINT, Remote Sensing, GIS, or Imagery Analysis.
- Proficiency in analyzing multi-source imagery (specifically SAR and EO); baseline understanding of satellite orbits, imagery modes, and geospatial data processing.
- Familiarity with standard GIS software (QGIS, ArcGIS), vector/raster data structures, and data visualization techniques. Experience working with machine learning outputs or automated extraction pipelines is a plus.
- Curiosity and eagerness to quickly master new software platforms, satellite sensor types, datasets, and evolving technology stacks.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a proven track record of professional collaboration across technical and non-technical teams.
- Willingness and ability to work a flexible shift schedule, including evenings and weekends, based on company operational demands.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen due to federal contract requirements.
